This article discusses AGM and committee meeting minutes, clarifying record-keeping obligations and whether minutes need to be signed by the chair in ACT.
Question: In ACT’s Unit Titles (Management) Act 2011 do the executive committee meeting and AGM minutes need to be signed by the chair?
Answer: There is no need in the ACT for the minutes of any meeting to be signed off by the chair.
There is no need in the ACT for the minutes of any meeting, AGM, GM or executive committee meeting to be physically signed off by the chair.
I recommend that the secretary write the minutes and seek the input from all other members of the executive committee to ensure the minutes are as accurate as possible.
