Will insurance companies in the future require a copy of the 10-year maintenance plan for the renewal of the policy?

At present, we are not aware of any insurers that routinely require a copy of a strata company's 10-year maintenance plan as part of the insurance renewal process.

However, insurers are placing greater emphasis on building condition and risk management. It is possible that, in the future, some insurers may request maintenance plans or other building condition information, or offer more favourable terms for strata companies that can demonstrate they are proactively maintaining their properties.

As underwriting practices continue to evolve, insurer requirements may change over time.
