Dr Nicole Johnston is the Founder and Director of Strata Knowledge, an independent research and consulting firm specialising in strata and community title law and governance. As a socio-legal researcher, Nicole is focused on translating applied research into practice by collaborating with industry to ensure impactful and beneficial outcomes.
Nicole started her professional life as a commercial lawyer but for the past 15 years, she has worked as an academic at Australian Universities. Nicole has led a number of research projects on topics including, building defects, strata insurance, strata law reform, fire safety, conflicts of interest, and developer governance responsibilities. She is a regular presenter at industry conferences, consults with governments, and has chaired numerous international forums.
Nicole holds degrees in psychology, criminology, law and has a PhD in strata and community title law and governance.
Tyrone Shandiman is a seasoned professional in the insurance industry having embarked on his journey in 2004 within the financial services sector. In 2011, he established Strata Insurance Solutions, transforming a garage startup into a reputable firm servicing over 900 clients with a dedicated focus on strata insurance. Tyrone's role extends beyond managing operations and tackling complex insurance matters; he also founded the Australian Consumers Insurance Lobby, championing consumer rights within the insurance industry. Notably, his efforts and expertise have been acknowledged with numerous industry awards. Adding to these accolades, Strata Insurance Solutions was recently named an Australian Top Brokerage by Insurance Business Australia Magazine, a testament to the firm's excellence and leadership in the field. Tyrone is a regular contributor to LookUpStrata.
Chris is a strata unicorn: he is not a strata lawyer, manager or caretaker. He was Queensland’s Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management for over 5 years. That is the only role of its type in the world. Chris is also an owner in one strata scheme, and a tenant in another.
As Director of Strata Solve, Chris focuses on communications and strategic advice, rather than legal action, to solving strata problems. Strata Solve works with owners, committees, strata managers and caretakers to tailor practical solutions to stressful strata situations. Chris holds an Honours degree in Communications and is a nationally accredited mediator.

Will Marquand joined the Tower team as a General Manager and Senior Strata manager in 2020. He has widespread experience across all forms of commercial, industrial and residential schemes. He believes in proactive, ethical strata management and hopes to provide Tower’s customers with the knowledge and support required to take their schemes forward into the next generation of body corporate management. Will has experience working across residential, commercial and industrial schemes. A former journalist and teacher, Will's excellent communication skills help Tower grow its expanding business. William is a regular contributor to LookUpStrata.
