Question: A lot owner’s unit entitlement in our strata scheme is more than 25%. If a poll vote is called for the motion to renew the strata management agency, how is this calculated?
Answer: For a poll on a majority vote/ordinary resolution, the votes are decided based on the value of unit entitlements.
When a poll on a majority vote/ordinary resolution, i.e. for the re-appointment of a strata managing agent, is demanded, the ‘for’ and ‘against’ votes are decided on the basis of the value of unit entitlements, not a ‘one vote for one lot’ show of hands.
